Sohodojo Advisory Board Member Where is E-Commerce going?; Boomers forming Home-based Businesses1. The New York Times Does it againIf there was any one article that we have seen recently that suggests what is going on in the New Economy/Internet World it is Monday's New York Times, Hollywood Greets Online Entrepreneurs, by Rick Lyman, it is a must read by all to see how the high speed computer, high speed internet, and the web site is changeing the entertainment world and everything else, if you will. This stuff is very important whether you are in Southern California, Las Vegas, Seattle, San Francisco, or whereever, content is alive and well, and if these Dot-Com Content Companies start to happen as the article strongly suggests, every older neighborhood will become a film studio. 2. Boomers like Home-based Businesses says NewsweekIf we did not know Home-based Businesses are the in thing today, with 27 million and growing. Newsweek says it is the boomers, and we agree. What they fail to mention is that the kids from 12 to 32 like the urban areas vs. the 'bergs', that their parents grew up in and are going back to the inner cities in mass. Commutting is out, if you will, and walking is in, whether to your desk top computer or to the Cafe across the street. Jim Schneider, LL.M. << Previous issue] [Next issue >>
